Jar-test Smart techniques Coagulant-dosing Optimization System

As a product that was selected and developed as a national research & development project through the MOU on joint development with Seonam/Jungnang Sewage Treatment Center in Seoul,

J-COS is a system that promptly analyzes water quality property in the rear end of bioreactor in sewerage/wastewater treatment facility and that of total phosphorus (T-P) processing facilities, and optimally controls coagulant-dosing in real time.

Product Features

Pretreatment system using non-pressure gravity filtering method

  • Prevents water quality measurement error caused by impurities, and failure of measuring equipment
  • Automatic built-in water & chemical cleansing function
Accurately measures phosphorus concentration (P)

SMART Jar-test device (applying 5 min cycle PO4-P measurement equipment)

  • Derives changes in efficiency of coagulant according to sewage flow property (phosphorus concentration, COD, alkalinity, etc.) through automatic jar-test
Promptly measures changes in water quality and properties, and optimally controls coagulant dosing

Overlap Process

  • Promptly measures water quality and composes process to enable jar-test
Orders a 5-min unit optimal dosing

Feedback Control System

  • Analyzes phosphorus concentration of process water before discharge -> Verifies coagulant dosing
Proactive response against emergencies

Complying with Legal Discharge Water Quality

Reduction of Coagulant Dosing by 20%

Operation Case

Empirical Operation Case

  • Seonam Water Recyacling Center in Seoul (About 9 months)
  • Hwado 2nd Sewage Treatment Plant in Namyangju-si (About 6 months)
  • Gwangju 2nd Sewage Treatment Plant (About 6 months)

Operation Case

  • Real-time response in case of emergency (Repetition of rapid rise and decline of phosphorus concentration)
  • Stably complies with discharge water quality
  • Reduces about 20% of coagulant

Case of prompt response according to changes in phosphorus concentration of raw water inflow
